At last…

…the Council has spent some money on the Chapel in Rake Lane Cemetery. The roof has been fixed with new tiles, the gutters have been replaced and the downpipes. Next week the windows will be made secure.
I went along with Cllr Karen Hayes, Mark Joynson (Chair of the Friends of Rake Lane Cemetery) and Cllr Tony Pritchard to see what had been done to date. The next meeting of the Friends group is Monday 29 September at Earlston Library starting at 7pm. If you’re interested in the cemetery please come along.
