Rake Lane Cemetery Chapel
May 10, 2009
There is good news for the Chapel at Rake Lane Cemetery, after years of laying vacant and becoming the victim of vandals, Fr Paul and his Russian Orthodox congregation are about to sign a lease on the building, pending approval by Wirral Council’s cabinet.
I’m sure that by restoring the building to its original use: for Christian worship, its future will be secured and the vandals will hopefully be deterred.
I am sure Fr Paul and his congregation will be a valuable addition to our community and I look forward to welcoming him and visiting the chapel once it’s refurbished and remodelled to make it suitable for the Orthodox liturgy.

It’s so good to see our little church on your news blog. Thank you for your support and for the publicity. I’m the reader at Fr Paul’s parish. We’re hoping to invite some of the local press to our opening next month. If you would be so good as to let me know of any local newspapers to write to, that would be very helpful. My e-mail address is readermichael@newmartyr.org.uk
Thank you so much.
