It's so good to see our little church on your news blog. Thank you for your support and for the publicity. I'm the reader at Fr Paul's parish. We're hoping to invite some of the local press to our opening next month. If you would be so good as to let me know of any local newspapers to write to, that would be very helpful. My e-mail address is readermichael@newmartyr.org.uk

Thank you so much.

The only problem with Gordon calling a General Election, is that the Tories will get into power, and that's a much scarier thought.

Keep counting!

I asked about, and was promised a bus shelter near to the stop Prescot Rd/Lilley Rd 4 years ago.
This is a stretch of road that despite double yellow lines and a bus lane is more like a car park at any part of the day or night.Prospective bus passengers daily risk their lives trying to hail or board buses.I have submitted photographs which go a long way to sugest that this is the most dangerous stop on merseyside.Good luck to you,I've had none.

Dear Sir/madam,

Re: New Health action areas

In October 2008, the Wirral Primary care trust will launch its new ‘Health action zones’ which will be responsible for improving the lives of residents who make up the areas of Wirral in relation to health and equality issues. I have been put in post as a ‘Community Health worker’ for Seacombe, Egremont, Poulton & Liscard’ with my main aims to be

- Reduce the risk of cardio vascular disease in + 55 males

- Reduce Obesity in Children & adults

- Provide an area for people to take part in a Green Garden, which will improve with well being and improve the levels of physical activity

- Increase the amount of Healthy eating venues for people to learn how to cook healthy on a budget

- Increase the amount of physical activity for people of Wallasey

- Provide positive behaviour changes

I have noticed on the web site, that you run a ‘Community garden’ and would very much like to know if there is an opportunity for the Wirral PCT to get involved with you to supply staff, members of the public, work with school children to work on the garden and improve all the areas that we have discussed.

If you feel that you can help in anyway or would like to set up a meeting, please do not hesitate to contact me on the number below or via e-mail and we can arrange a meeting to discuss our plans. We feel that this is an exciting time for the people of Wallasey regarding their own health and we hope that you can be a part of it too.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

I find it quite depressing that an organisation built on faith, has by their actions effectively said there is no future for the people of New Brighton, and given up without a fight.

I’m sure with a bit of effort they could have found additional community uses for the building that would have made it sustainable.

Hi Leah, just wanted to ask which junction it is, or if you have further information?

I applaud the non-scaremongering stance you have generally taken on masts; you have stuck up for residents, without going down the daily mail style route of one-sided scaremongering against them. Obviously the evidence isn't conclusive on their alleged effects, but I personally don't think they pose a risk and think in time this will be shown. However I realise that many residents are concerned about the lack of conclusive proof and that you must separate this from the fact that many residents do not like them, given their visually obstrusive appearance - plus they lower house values, at a time when they can least afford it!

People cycle on the pavements in the precinct every day. You're being naive thinking one day is going to make a difference. It won't!
